I was able to attend Pixy’s first makeup workshop which is in collaboration with BDJ Box. It is the BDJ Box Beauty Soiree: Get Pixy-fied! A Kawaii Experience. It was held at The Blackboard by Chef Michel, The Podium Mall.
Before we started with the makeup workshop, we ate some yummy dishes served at the restaurant.
After eating, we already proceeded with the program. Ms. Liz Lanuzo introduced Pixy as the newest makeup brand to hit the Philippines. This brand came from Indonesia and the products consist of Japanese ingredients which are really suited for Asian skin.
Here are some of the Pixy products that were shown to us. For makeup newbies, this brand could be a good start if you are going to build your makeup collection. They have cute makeup packaging, the products are really good and they are also very affordable. If you would like to know where to buy Pixy products, please refer to this post for their store outlets. 🙂
Here are the different shades available for some of the Pixy products.
Ms. Charm Suerte was the invited makeup artist for the event. First, she did a bit of storytelling about how she started her journey as a makeup artist. She also shared some makeup techniques for us.
- Just apply a thin layer of concealer under your eyes to prevent creasing.
- If ever the concealer already creased under your eyes, just lightly pat it with your ring finger to get rid of the crease.
- If the concealer is not enough to conceal the darkness of the under eyes, mix a bit of orange corrector with the concealer.
- If a corrector is not available with you, you can use a small amount of matte orange eyeshadow or matte orange lipstick.
- Use the back of your hand as your palette to mix your makeup before applying it on your skin.
- When applying powder foundation or loose powder, dab the powder brush on your skin. Do not sweep it off as it would tend to just remove the powder.
Ms. Charm Suerte taught us how to do two simple yet pretty looks using Pixy products: the Tokyo Kawaii look and the Tokyo Glam look. The models, of course, are from the BDJ Team. 😀
If you can remember in my unboxing post of the April 2014 BDJ Box: Beauty Blossoms, there is a guide in the Pixy leaflet on what products to use to achieve these looks. Please see picture below… 😀
Here is the final Tokyo Kawaii look. This is suited for a natural daytime look.
Here is the final Tokyo Glam look. This is a nice look if you are having a date or if you will attend evening events.
Afterwards, the attendees were given the time to do their own makeup. I actually went to the event without my makeup on because we were advised that we are going to have a makeup session anyway. 😀
Here is the look that I did at the event. It is just a simple and wearable daytime look.
Here are the products that I used. Of course, Pixy products are included. 😀
I am so happy because aside from attending this event and learning new makeup techniques, I also met other beauty bloggers and BDJ bellas. More event pictures down below… 😀
